NOTE: Time change shifted to earlier morning hours (9 am- 3 pm) due to extreme heat. The reenactors will be there until 3 pm, but afternoon house tours (1pm, 2 pm and 3 pm) may not occur. Please come early to enjoy their program before the extreme heat.
Reenactors Mark Rohman and Anette Rodrigueswill be dressed in period clothing and performing the roles of a Patriot soldier with various military accoutrements and a Loyalist wife encamped with serving men, on the Tate House grounds during the day. Come talk with them about all things revolutionary and enjoy our new exhibit and a tour of Tate House.
Mark has been a Historical Interpreter since 2004 when his passion for history led to this hobby. He started with an American Civil War unit but now largely interprets the America Colonial time period and the lives of soldiers from the 17th and 18th centuries. His displays include various muskets and equipment from this time period.
Anette will be portraying a German Loyalist immigrant from Broad Bay in Waldoboro. She started researching "the other side of the American Revolution" (Loyalists) as a course for her Masters degree in German at UMaine in 1996. She looked for and found Hessians in Maine at Fort George, Penobscot (1782-1783) and elsewhere. She enjoys sharing quill writing with visitors representing the many letters written during the revolution.
